purple haze

On August 18, 1969, Jimi Hendrix took to the stage as the final performer at Woodstock.  Rain delays pushed his performance from Sunday night to 8:30 am Monday morning.  Three quarters into his 2 hour set, Hendrix began to play his psychedelic spin of the Star Spangled Banner which then shifted into Purple Haze.  This has become one of the defining moments of the 1960s.  As festival season quickly approaches, LHLL is looking back on defining moments in music history to inspire our sartorial decisions.  Our Purple Haze tie dye crews are named for the song that captured the spirit of that time and we hope you wear yours to capture your own memories.
